Tarmacadam installation

Installation of binder and surface course to clients site.

We tackled an extensive tarmac project at Croft Mead, starting with essential access road repairs that involved laying a sturdy 60mm binder course with 20mm aggregate, topped with a smooth-finish 40mm wearing course.

The team did a fantastic job on the adjacent parking areas too, using the same high-quality two-layer system to ensure durability. All work was machine-laid to guarantee even surfaces, and we paid special attention to drainage falls to prevent any water pooling.

The residents were particularly pleased with how we managed to complete the work with minimal disruption to their daily routines.

Tarmacadam installation

Installation of binder and surface course to clients site.

We completed a great job at the Lythalls Lane housing development in Coventry, laying down a robust two-layer tarmac surface. We started with a solid 60mm binder course using 20mm aggregate to give it real strength, then topped it off with a smooth 40mm surface course using finer 10mm aggregate.

Everything was laid using our mechanical pavers and properly compacted – this surface will serve the residents well for years to come.

Reconstruction of swimming pool perimeter including excavation, sub base installation, composite decking, porous asphalt and resin bound surfacing.

Speedwell Close, Bedworth

WORK UNDERTAKEN

New Private Road Surfacing

O’Flanagan Homes commissioned JJ Gilleran to create and lay a new private road for a of 10 newly developed homes at Speedwell Close in Bedworth. The road was a completely new surface and we had to lay and level a sub base prior to laying the base course and wearing course.

Overall the road was 465sqm and we also had to complete footpaths totalling just under 100sqm. We used a paver to lay the tarmac along the road surface and a sit-on roller and wacker plate to compress the tarmac.

This project was done in sections and took just over a week to complete.

Children’s Centre, Foleshill, Coventry

New EPDM Surface

The council-ran children’s centre had a current rubber surface in need of replacing that was 250sqm in size. We were required to remove the rubber play area and dispose of responsibly through a licensed waste carrier.

This was a two-layer construction with a base course and a wearing course totalling 40mm, using an EPDM as the top layer. This job took two weeks to complete.

Private Residential Address, Fillongley

WORK UNDERTAKEN

New Tennis Court

We were instructed from a domestic client to create a new tennis court for their back garden. We dug out the ground, lay land drainage and then type 3 stone complete with perimeter edgings.

We then lay 2-coat tarmac which was sprayed two shades of green, and finally fencing around the court. The overall project was completed in just under 4 weeks.

Venture Centre, Warwick Science Park, Coventry

Relay & Re-Line Car Park

We completed this work at Warwick University on behalf of Grealy Construction which involved re-surfacing the car park, changing levels and reconfiguring the footpaths and increasing parking spaces, and finally lining the new surface.
The overall area was around 2,500sqm and included hatching, disabled bays and double yellow lining, and included a 30mm SMA wearing course. In some areas we had to dig out planters and provide a type 3 250mm sub-base and open graded binder course with porous asphalt finish.

This was a phased project complete over 4 weeks.

Spencer Park, Coventry

WORK UNDERTAKEN

MUGA Conversion

We were instructed by Coventry City Council to convert the current tennis courts at Spencer park into a MUGA area for children, totalling 900sqm. It was an existing dilapidated tennis court and in need of repair and maintenance and the Council required an area for children to play, and we installed a new surface, alterations of the walls, ramps and pre-form markings for activities and play, including running track, hopscotch, pitch markings etc. We cleaned down and prepared the surface, rebased and topped it and provided the markings, and took 3 weeks to complete.
